Hotel Overview

There are several hotel options in Hirosaki. The city supports hundreds of thousands of tourists at a time for several holiday seasons throughout the year. Access to Hirosaki is by train via the Tohoku Shinkansen (transfer at Shin-Aomori station to the Ou line to Hirosaki station. Access is also available by air to Aomori airport (AOJ) and then by bus to Hirosaki station (approx. 45 mins ride). Many of the hotels listed below are right outside the station. Hirosaki Sites

Hirosaki is a famous city for sightseeing and millions of tourists visit the city every year. The biggest draw is Hirosaki Park–where Hirosaki Castle is located.

Food tourism

Hirosaki is famous for apples–the Tsugaru area is the number 1 producer of apples in Japan. Naturally, apple-based snacks and foods are very popular. The city has numerous cafes and restaurants with their own apple pie recipes. Be sure to try a variety of the pies. There are also different types of apple cider and apple-based drinks that should be tried while you visit.

Hirosaki is also famous as a coffee town. There are cafes and coffee shops everywhere and they are worth visiting while you are here. Many of them have their own apple pies that are delicious and must be tried!
